Retro Googo Scooter

From 1951 to 1956 these scooters were built by the bavarian farm equipment manufacturer Hans Glas GmbH in Dingolfing. They were built with engine displacements of 120cc, later with 125cc, 150cc and 200cc. The 200cc version had an ILO engine with 11 HP and a top speed of 100 km per hour. These are rare motorbikes that look very kool!

Up to 120 scooters were built daily. The production ended in 1956 after 46500 units had been built. The scooters were sold for between $340.00 and $440.00 for the standard versions.

The Glas factory switched to car production with the Goggomobil, a 250-400cc microcar. The top car model was the 3000cc V-8 “Glaserati”. Later the Glas factory was annexed by BMW.

BMW continued to build some Glas models with the BMW logo on it, like the Goggomobil and the 1600 GT.
